Not on par with the rest of the Peppa series

My kids love the entire Peppa franchise. But this book is on the lower end of the scale. It's just not as entertaining as the rest. Peppa and his family go to the pool....and go swimming. That's pretty much it. There is no real story to speak of.

It's a decent bedtime book because it's very soothing and calming. It's also got value as a book to let a kid read by herself because it's simple and they can get the entire story just from the pictures. (And anything that makes a kid sit and read by themselves and be interested in it is a very good thing)

The coloring is vibrant. I'll give it that. The coloring of the illustrations captured my 4 year old's attention.

But the other Peppa books are better if you're looking to buy only 1 or 2.

She also loves swimming so I knew she would enjoy this one

I have been slowly adding some of these Peppa books to her collection, as she loves to be read to. She also loves swimming so I knew she would enjoy this one. She knows all the characters, and loves pointing them all out. This book is cute and colorful, however I personally thought it was lacking a little bit as far as the variety of pictures. Each page is pretty much the same with the characters in the pool, with some slight variations. However, as you can tell from my video this book has been well loved in just the couple months that we have had it. My daughter wants us to read it to her over and over, and she carries it around with her all the time looking at the pictures. So although the pictures are a bit repetitive to me, my daughter loves it and that is what matters most. There are 23 pages total not including the cover page, and there are just the right amount of words on the pages to tell a nice story without losing her attention. Overall I like this book, it just isn't my personal favorite in the series. I still would recommend it to anyone with a child who is a Peppa fan. This was a personal purchase bought at the full retail price. I am reviewing it solely to share my experience with other potential buyers.

Goodnight, Peppa!

My daughter is two, almost three and she loves Peppa Pig. I was excited to order this book for delivery on its release date. We read it the first night at bedtime and she listened so intently. There's not much of a plot line, like most Peppa books, and that's perfect for bedtime! They jump in muddy puddles a bit before having a bath, brushing their teeth, and hearing a bedtime story as they fall asleep. That's it! Simple and fun to read. My daughter has wanted to hear it each night with her bedtime books. If you have a Peppa lover, it's a good way to end the day :)

Solid, excellent teaching

I still own this and refer back to it often several years after my purchase. I find it to be the best place to start after Redemptive Gifts for individuals. Healing and restoring relationships within the family is where we need to begin so we can be growing to where Father God is leading us. This is a most excellent resource for that. Helping us to understand where our attitudes have led us to be wandering is vital.

Fabulous doll patterns plus extras

I purchased 3 books on making 18" doll clothes and this was by far the best. Tissue paper patterns are included for everything! The clothes are darling and do-able, the instructions easy to follow. There are also patterns and ideas for making story boards and the accessories for each fairy tale scene. Well done book.

A fun way to create hours of play!

This is a wonderful book! What a great way to create many hours of make-believe and play. I do have to alter the patterns a bit, since my dolls are a little bigger, but it is not a difficult process. I can use scraps from my stash and fabric remnants for most of the patterns. I love that it even includes instructions on how to make the backdrop settings and props. I would highly recommend this book!

I didn't need the patterns for all the furniture etc that go with the clothing. I would have preferred more clothing patterns. Actual pattern pieces are included and can be interspersed to improvise. Easy to read instructions.

Twenty-three years have passed since publication of the first edition of this book and the fourth edition takes advantage of considerable worldwide experience in this field. Many veterinary surgeons already know this comprehensive textbook and have had an opportunity to appreciate its usefulness in daily practice when managing all types of orthopaedic problems.

The format of the book is the usual one, as in the previous editions, with a first part dealing with the basic principles of the diagnosis and treatment of fractures, lameness and joint diseases, including fracture classification and all types of implants and systems of fixation. The second part describes the treatment of fractures and orthopaedic conditions of the fore- limb, while the third part considers the hind limb. The fourth part describes the approach to other fractures and to reconstruction of bone deformity, whilst the fifth part deals with miscellaneous conditions of the musculoskeletal system. This edition is considerably enriched by the excellent artwork of F. Dennis Giddings, the artist who first become famous with the milestone book for all orthopaedic surgeons, Piermattei's Atlas of Surgical Approaches to the bones and joints of the dog and cat.

The approach to each musculoskeletal condition is very comprehensive, following the original philosophy of Wade Brinker, taking care in the description of the pathology, the diagnostic work-up, surgical indications and planning, surgical approach, surgical techniques, complications and follow-up. For this reason this textbook is very useful to all veterinary surgeons when approaching veterinary orthopaedic and traumatology problems and willing to find the technical solution to any musculoskeletal case they may find in their daily practice.

For more experienced surgeons, already used to consult the previous editions, this fourth one will update their knowledge on the most recent diagnostic approaches, such as arthroscopy and the recently developed new techniques such as TPLO, guiding the reader in the choice of new solutions for several orthopaedic conditions. The addition of a new Author, Charles De Champ, is a guarantee for the continuous update of this textbook.

African Brewing the craft developed from the cradle of brewing

The book is an outstanding presentation of brewing in South Africa taking the reader through the history of this craft, starting over 3000 years back, and describing in great detail the brewers and brewsters, their brewing processes and equipment that are being used to produce many beers that are enjoyed by all of us in South Africa.
The exciting paring of beers with food are described and acccompanied with excellent photos.
As I know many of those people and breweries mentioned in this book, one can say that it reflects well on the passion of Lucy and Ryno who wrote it, and on all those that they have mentioned.
It also places South African craft brewing at the highest level of this exciting development in the international brewing industry that has been "my home" for over 5 decades.

I loved this book. Being a rookie brewer I found this so informative and inspiring and comforting to know that if these brewers can do it. So can I. I look forward to visiting the breweries mentioned and having interesting conversations with them about my new found passion.

About the Author

David A. Bell is the Sidney and Ruth Lapidus Professor in the Department of History at Princeton. Born in New York and educated at Harvard, Princeton and the �cole Normale Sup�rieure, he previously taught at Yale and Johns Hopkins, where he also served as Dean of Faculty in the School of Arts and Sciences. He is the author of three prize-winning books, most recently The First Total War (2007).

An evocative read

A quick read that gives insight to one of the most influential man of history. Napoleon Bonaparte's lust for power affected all of Europe, and thus the world. David A. Bell tells of his rise and fall, using evocative language and description that would not be out of place in a novel. At the end, he places Napoleon in historical context, too, discussing how history views the man and emperor. Thus, despite its concise nature, the biography manages to put Napoleon in context, both in his time and ours.
I received a copy from the publisher via Netgalley. They got an honest review and I got a great book.

A true concise biography of Napoleon

David Bell has written a great and concise biography of Napoleon. There are no wasted words in this 113 page book that includes a detailed introduction and ending epilogue. With only 5 chapters to the book, Bell provides the reader with, among other things, with the birth of Napoleon in Corsica; France before and after the French revolution; Napoleon's military accomplishments and battles (some won and some lost) in Europe and the Middle East; Napoleon's ruling of France and the creation of the Napoleonic Code; and Napoleon's downfall before and after the Battle of Waterloo. Bell's work is fair and objective; and he has conveyed to the reader both the "good with the bad" of the rise and fall of Napoleon. The concise biography is splendid reading and can be read in a matters of a few hours. Bell also provides a section of "further reading" and "index" for easy reference. Highly recommend this book on the life of Napoleon. Nice resource book as well of the many works written on all facets of the life and accomplishments on Napoleon.

The title says it all - this is the ultimate concise biography of Napoleon.

When countless in-depth biographies have already been written about a quite extraordinary, larger than life historical figure, the choice of where to start reading is daunting. I would recommend this for people interested in Napoleon, and who wish to learn about all aspects of his life rather than concentrating on one area.

This is a excellent overview of Napoleon, and would be interesting for everyone high school aged and above.
